Gable and Roof Replacement to 19th Century Cottage
The roof to this 19th Century Cornish cottage was recommended for replacement and Lowe Group were appointed to restore the building to its former glory.
In addition to a complete new roof structure and new slate roof covering, the gable wall needed rebuilding with the removal of an unstable and un-used chimney stack. Working closely with the client's Structural Engineer, we carefully replaced the roof structure, covering with new slated, then removed the existing gable wall and failing chimney stack before rebuilding and lime-rendering the wall. An existing stone wall on a side elevation was also fully repointed.
